Subsidy Program
Feedback on program in May:
- Cadre are reporting success
with the program if eligible.
- Program has room to assist
more people!
- NACCRRA received over 450
contacts for information resulting
in 130 applications.
- NACCRRA was able to assist
almost every applicant!
- Program is to support full
time child care
- To applicants must meet
qualifications similar to
installation requirements
(example. Spouse working or
seeking work.) " The
fee assistance program is
intended to support military
spouses’ employment
or education. Fee assistance
will only be provided to single
parent families, families
with a working spouse, or
one who is enrolled in school.
It will also be provided to
families where the spouse
is looking for work for a
period of 30 days. "

Cadet Command soldiers without
access to installation childcare
may check their eligibility
for childcare subsidy (reduced
childcare fees) in their area
by contacting 1-800-424-2246.
They may also find licensed
and accredited childcare at
that #.

2. If calling, ask about the
"Active Duty" Army
Sponsored Community Based
Childcare program which is
different from Operation Military
Childcare for Reserve Component
and Operation Childcare which
is for the 4 hours of free
childcare for deployed Soldiers
returning from deployment

Also, the GSA
Child Care Program is open
to active duty soldiers, to
include those activated by
the National Guard and Army
Reserve. Fees are subsidized
at the current Army rate.
They do NOT have centers in
the following states: Alabama,
Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut,
Delaware, Florida, Idaho,
Maine, Montana, Nevada, New
Hampshire, New Mexico, North
Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma,
Rhode Island, south Dakota,
Wisconsin & Wyoming. --Soldiers
wishing to apply can contact
the Army Child Care direct
line at 816-823-4578 or contact
their local GSA chenter for
an application. The list of
all GSA centers can be found
on http:// www.gsa.gov/. At
the top of the page there
is a link "For Citizens"...click
on that and then click on
"Child Care" located
to the left of the page for
the list of centers.
